JCC hosts trilateral meeting to enhance coordination and cooperation among the JCC, JCMC and THW

On February 13, 2019 in Erbil, the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC) hosted a trilateral meeting between the JCC, the Iraqi Joint Coordination and Monitoring Center (JCMC) represented by Executive Director Mr. Naseer Abdul Sattar and the Germany’s Agency of Technical Relief (THW) represented by Mr. Florian Webber, Deputy Director for International Cooperation.

In the beginning, the JCC Director General, Hoshang Mohamed, warmly welcomed the delegations and highlighted the existing cooperation and coordination among JCC and JCMC and other federal entities on the humanitarian crisis management. He added that through this cooperation, we have achieved a lot and come along way but there is still along way to go and there is room for further enhancing such cooperation.

Then, both Mr. Naseer and Mr. Florian extended thanks for the JCC’s DG for hosting the meeting and reiterated the already good relations and cooperation between JCC and JCMC with the THW.

The meeting discussed the current efforts to strengthen disaster and crisis management institutional capacities, needs and priorities for the Kurdistan Region and the federal government including establishing volunteering system. After a detailed exchange of views on the developments and needs, all sides agreed on an action plan to be developed for potential THW's support for the JCC and JCMC.

THW is one of the JCC and JCMC’s key partners that have been providing technical support to institutional capacity building and also providing the most required tools and equipment to build the technical infrastructure to enable the two institutions to operate at their full potential.
