JCC Director General, Korean Consul General discuss humanitarian situation

On Sunday, April 28, 2019, the Director General of the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC), Mr. Hoshang Mohamed, received Mr. Kwang-jin Choi, the new Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Erbil to discuss the current humanitarian situation and the humanitarian assistance for the Internally Displaced People (IDPs), refugees and the host community.

The JCC Director General, on behalf of the KRG, extended thanks and appreciation to the people and the government of the Republic of Korea for the continued assistance for the displaced people, refugees and the host community in the Kurdistan Region since 2014 with the beginning of the crisis outbreak.

JCC Director General briefed the Mr. Choi about the current humanitarian situation, needs and priorities, and JCC’s plans to provide assistance to the IDPs, refugees and host communities.

Finally, Mr. Hoshang and Mr. Choi discussed how to maximize the benefits of upcoming support from the Government of Korea, deciding on the best course of action to avoid technical issues and deliver the assistance to the most number of beneficiaries as possible.
