On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Mr. Hoshang Mohamed, Director General of the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC) received a delegation from the Netherlands consists of Mr. Warner ten Kate, Head of Migration and Development Division at the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Ana Lucinda, Political Officer at the Consulate General and accompanied delegation.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the humanitarian situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and the impact of recent developments on delivering humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable.
Mr. Hoshang provided a brief about the current humanitarian situation in the Region and the continues arrivals of IDPs and refugees to Kurdistan. The priorities and needs for the displaced people and long term support to build their resilience in livelihood sectors and protection until they will be able to return to their place of origin.
Mr. Warner talked about the Netherlands’ governments new programme called “Prospect” in support of the hosting governments to help the displaced people and host communities in the coming years. and explained the priority sectors and areas that the programme is mainly focusing on.
They exchanged views about the programme and mechanisms and areas of priorities to improve the situation of refugees and host communities, JCC Director General reiterated JCC’s full support and cooperation so that the programme will be implemented successfully in Kurdistan and other governorates.
