The Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC) organized first of its kind High-Level Joint meeting between KRG, Gol-MoDM, and UN-Humanitarian Country Team, to discuss the Mosul Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Strategy, Humanitarian Response Plan for 2017 and Return Process for the displaced families to the liberated areas. The meeting was chaired by the KRG’s Minister of Interior, Karim Sinjari and attended by several ministers from KRG and GoI and Humanitarian coordinator and senior representative of the UN-Agencies.
After a detailed discussion and assessment of all available options and modalities, several decisions were made and action plans were agreed upon to ensure a well-coordinated response to predictable waves of displacement resulting from Mosul liberation operation, and inclusive process to assess the needs and prioritization for the HRP-2017 for the current IDPs and a voluntary, dignified and safe IDPs returns to the liberated areas.
