Today in the Office of the Joint Crisis Coordination in Erbil, (JCC), Mr. Hoshang Mohamed the Director General of JCC and Ms. Sarah Kunzelmann, Programme Manager of the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to build two modern stores for the JCC in Erbil and Duhok.
The two stores will be funded and constructed directly by THW in the governorates of Erbil and Duhok to support the JCC’s efforts to increase preparedness and response capacity to respond the influx of internally displaced people from Mosul and also the future crisis and disasters.
The Kurdistan Regional Government has allocated land and will provide other required services for the two projects as part of its contribution to the project. With the completion of the projects, JCC will be able to make proper preparedness and planning for prepositioning of life-saving assistance to be mobilized effectively during the emergencies.
THW is one the JCC’s key partners that has continued to provide critical support to the centre to strengthen the government crisis response and management capacity through equipment provision, and tailored training courses for the staff of the JCC and the Office of Crisis Response in the three governorates of Erbil, Slemani and Duhok.
