Mr. Hoshang explained the new structure of JCC and the new duties and roles JCC has acquired after merging of Directorate of Migration with JCC, he stated that the purpose of this meeting is to discuss the mechanisms and ways to ensure cooperation and coordination among all our stakeholders on Migration and Returnees. The Kurdistan Region continues to host the largest number of IDPs and refugees. There are still (930,550) IDPs and Refugees in Kurdistan; (671,238 IDPs) and (239,476) Syrian, (8,551) Turkish, (10,572) Iranian, and (713) Palestinian refugees, (85) Others. The majority of IDPs and refugees live with the host communities in the Region, while only (30%) living in the (35) camps, and (70%) live in outside camps. 41% of the total displaced population live in Erbil, 41% in Duhok, and 18% in Sulaymaniyah.
