QUDRA Program; EU MADAD Fund finances four service projects in Duhok

On May 18, 2017, Duhok Governorate and German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed a memorandum of understanding to implement several service projects in the province as part of the QUDRA program funded by the European Union and will be implemented by the GIZ.

Representative of GIZ and JCC’’s Duhok Governorate office and directors of Duhok’s several directorates attended the event.

The 200,000 euro-worth projects that would be implemented by the GIZ in coordination with the local administration in Duhok will consist of providing training and awareness of the handicap children at the General Directorate of Social Care, the project of building and reconstructing the roads through General Directorate of Municipality, provision of electricity transformers for General Directorate of Electricity and provision of water pipes for the farmers through the Directorate of Water in outskirt of Duhok.

The initial payment and implementation of the above mentioned projects will start next week.

The Qudra Programme is a regional action financed by the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis, the 'Madad' Fund and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) seeking to strengthen resilience for Syrian refugees, IDPs and host communities in response to the Syrian and Iraqi crises.
