On May 21, Karim Sinjari, the KRG Minister of Interior received a German delegation headed by Dr. Gunter Krings, the parliamentary secretary and Vice Minister of Interior and Mr. Klaus Buchmueller, Head of the International Division at the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and his accompanying delegation
In a meeting, attended by Hoshang Mohammed, Director General of the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre, Minister Sinjari welcomed the German delegation and thanked them, on behalf of the people and government of Kurdistan, for the continued technical, humanitarian and military support for the Kurdistan Region.
Minister Sinjari extended his gratitude to THW for the successful coordination and cooperation that has been established with the JCC, stating that “we are delighted with the level of coordination and cooperation between THW and JCC,” and requested continued support and cooperation of THW, especially in terms of implementing strategic plan for establishment of a Disaster and Crisis Management System in the Kurdistan Region.
Minister Sinjari briefed the delegation about the current humanitarian, security and economic situation in the Region and stressed on the KRG’s efforts in dealing with the humanitarian crisis and reform process that has been underway.
Dr. Gunter explained that the purpose of the visit is to see the activities and projects that THW has been implementing in the Kurdistan Region and to discuss ways for further strengthening coordination and cooperation between THW and JCC.
He praised the coordination between both sides and expressed his support for continuous cooperation to the establishment of a Disaster and Crisis Management System to deal with current crisis and newly emergencies in the future.
