The State of Kuwait continues to provide lifesaving assistance to the displaced people in the Kurdistan Region and Mosul IDPs.

On August 15, 2017, the State of Kuwait has provided direct humanitarian assistance to the Kurdistan Regional Government to support the displaced people from Mosul.

In a ceremony attended by the Director General of the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC), Hoshang Mohamed, and Dr. Omar al-Kandari, the Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Erbil, the Kuwaiti humanitarian assistance being handed over to the KRG’s JCC.

The Kuwaiti humanitarian assistance consisted of 55 tons of medicine and medical supplies as part of the Kuwait’s efforts to support the displaced people in the Kurdistan Region.

In the ceremony, Mr. Hoshang Mohamed, on behalf of the KRG’s Ministry of Interior, extends thanks and appreciation to the people and the government of the State of Kuwait for their continued humanitarian assistance and their generosity to alleviate the suffering of the displaced people.  

JCC, in coordination with the relative institutions, will supervise the distribution of the medicines in the IDP camps and hospitals in the Kurdistan Region and Mosul.

Since the begging of the Mosul military operation in October 2017, the state of Kuwait continues to provide humanitarian emergency assistance including medicine, ambulances, and building schools and clinics for the displaced people as well as distributing food baskets.
