Since its launch in December 2016, by the KRG’s Council of Ministers, the One Stop Shop (OSS) in Joint Crisis Coordination Center (JCC) has provided a free-of-charge services including facilitation and FastTrack the custom clearance and coordination with all relevant authorities for the smooth movement for incoming numerous humanitarian cargo brought into KRI and other areas in Iraq by the international community to support displaced in Iraq and the vulnerable people who stayed and returned to their homes in the liberated areas.
Until July 2017, among the (710) custom clearance requests, the OSS cleared (6,785) metric ton of cargo and shipments arrived at the Ibrahim Khalil border and Erbil International Airport, that values $117,199,582. All of the shipments have been exempted from custom fees, taxes and tariffs.
Previous to the establishment of the OSS, customs clearance requests were taking three weeks or more to process, with exceptional cases sometimes taking months, while the OSS has reduced the time to clear any file below ten working days.
The OSS, as it’s consists of the representatives of ministries of Interior, Finance and Economy, and Health, also the Department of Foreign Relations along with the support of UN’s World Food Program continues to work hard to keep providing the facilitation to the humanitarian community supporting the government efforts in these times of crisis.
