President of LDS visits JCC to discuss humanitarian situation

On Sunday, September 15, 2019, a delegation from the Church of Jesus Christ headed by Mr. Elder Anthony Perkins, President of LDS Church and Mr. Boyce Fitzgerald, Director of Temporal Affairs visited the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC) and were received by Mr. Hoshang Mohamed, Director General.

Mr. Hoshang Mohamed welcomed the delegation and briefed them about JCC activities and the humanitarian situation in the Kurdistan Region. He also thanked the delegation for the LDS’ continued humanitarian assistance and expressed JCC’s readiness for strengthening cooperation and coordination.

In the meeting both sides discussed the humanitarian situation in the Kurdistan Region and the ways of improving cooperation and collaboration between JCC and the Church of Jesus Christ further to support the Internally Displaced People (IDPs), refugees and the host communities.

Church of Jesus Christ since the beginning of the humanitarian crisis in Iraq and the arrival of mass number of IDPs and refugees into the Kurdistan Region, played an important role in supporting the IDPs, refugees and the host community.
