Concluding a special training on Camp Management, Principles, and International Standards

As part of the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC) institutional capacity building plan to strengthen crisis management and response in Kurdistan Region, JCC, in partnership with IOM and THW, organized a three-day training on Camp Coordination and Camp Management to the volunteers in the Rapid Response Unit (RRU).  

The CCCM training was provided by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in coordination with Technisches Hilfswerk (THW) for three days from (6th Sept 2020 to 8th Sept 2020).   

The training focused on the Camp Coordination, Protection Monitoring, Humanitarian Standards while establishing camps, GBV, Care and Maintenance, Data Collection and Information Management in IDP and refugee camps, and Site Consolidation or Closure.      

The aim of the training is to increasing the capacity of the RRU in Camp coordination and camp management with all the international humanitarian standards. The training completed and at the end certificates distributed to all the participants.    

Rapid Response Unit (RRU) is the first official volunteer group in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The RRU was established for all the KRI governorates on November 28, 2018, according to the Council of Ministers Executive Order No. 6299. The members are a group of volunteers from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Municipalities, Civil Defense, International Organizations, JCC Staffs, and others. They are under the direct monitoring of JCC and their goal is to rescue vulnerable people in an emergency, for this purpose they were trained well.
