Currently the Kurdistan Regional Government is the host of (996,861) IDPs and Refugees which (737,365) of them are including IDPs and (239,740) Syrian, (8,440) Turkish, (10,611) Iranian, and (705) Palestinian refugees. Contrary to popular perception, the majority of IDPs and refugees live with the host communities in the Region, while only (37%) percent living in the (37) camps. (49%) percent of the total displaced population live in Erbil, (30%) percent in Duhok, and (21%) percent in Sulaymaniyah.
